Second best--
Or nothingness?
I'm veiled and
Wool's pulled over his eyes.
Daddy deceiving the deceiver into
Seven more years of
Blood, sweat, and my tears.
The blood of their births,
The sweat of his work,
The tears of an urn
Poured out and used;
Transportation for Daddy's dreams
That quenches burning hope,
And settles me in aching desperation.
Still I hear the whispering lies:
Redemption in the Trickster's eyes.
And more blood,
And more names,
And more crying out:
"Tell me I am wanted!"
Yet muffled in a tent, I'm made a factory.
Given away, away, AWAY.
The bride price for another
Extracted darkly for me.
Like pulling teeth--
Rotten, black, and dying--
Only hurts a little while, sure,
Then sets in the numbed hollowness.
Vessel of an ancient pain,
Eyelids pulled and seared by disappointment--
Life-long invisibility turns to clarity
As I bear satisfaction.
The blood of rejection
Now the blood of redemption,
And lies lay down and die.
Or nothingness?
I'm veiled and
Wool's pulled over his eyes.
Daddy deceiving the deceiver into
Seven more years of
Blood, sweat, and my tears.
The blood of their births,
The sweat of his work,
The tears of an urn
